Statement of Purpose

Sikh Heritage Girls School is an independent Sikh faith school for girls from Reception to Year 6. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is at the heart of the school, shaping both our educational purpose and the values through which we live and learn.

Our purpose is to provide an ambitious, intellectually rich and deeply rooted education that enables every girl to develop strong academic foundations, confidence in her own thinking and a secure sense of who she is. We want pupils to recognise their talents, work hard to develop them and grow up believing that excellent opportunities and institutions are open to them.

Academic success sits alongside Sikh formation. Through Simran, Gurbani, Punjabi, Jeevan Jaanch and the wider life of the school, girls learn that knowledge, opportunity and achievement carry responsibility. We want them to use what they become capable of doing in ways that contribute to their families, communities and the wider world.

Our small-school environment allows pupils to be known closely, challenged appropriately and supported as individuals. We work in genuine partnership with families while protecting childhood, encouraging curiosity and gradually building the independence pupils will need for the next stage of their education.
