Tracking Progress and Assessments

Tracking Progress

At Sikh Heritage Girls School, we believe that pupil progress is most effective when it is shared, celebrated, and supported by strong home–school partnerships. Our approach to tracking and communicating progress is regular, personalised, and rooted in our ethos of care.

Half-Termly Progress Meetings

Parents and carers are invited to attend a virtual progress meeting every half term. These meetings are designed to provide an overview of each pupil’s academic, personal, and social development, as well as to highlight next steps in learning. Teachers share examples of work, celebrate effort and growth, and discuss how families can continue supporting learning at home.

Frequent Communication

Our team maintains frequent and proactive contact with parents, often calling home to celebrate individual successes, kindness, effort, or progress. We see every achievement—big or small—as an opportunity to build confidence and strengthen the relationship between school and home.

Class Dojo

We use Class Dojo as a daily communication tool, allowing parents to receive instant updates about their daughter’s learning, behaviour, and involvement in school life. It is also a platform for sharing class announcements, key learning points, and photos of pupil work and activities.

Termly Showcase

Each term, we host a celebration showcase where parents and carers are invited into school to see their daughter’s work across the curriculum. These events highlight not only academic achievement but also personal development, creativity, and character, aligning with our school’s values and whole-child approach. These showcases have proven very successful and parents look forward to the next one!
